Background of the partners
In September 2004 Prof. Dr. Volker Haarslev, Kay Hidde, Prof. Dr. Ralf Möller and Dr. Michael Wessel founded the Racer Systems GmbH & Co. KG to give the RacerPro software a home in the commercial business world.
All partners studied computer science at the University of Hamburg even though not necessarily at the same time. As Ralf Möller and Kay Hidde had their first semesters Volker Haarslev already worked as a research assistent in the Cognitive Systems Group (KOGS) of Prof. Dr. Bernd Neumann , the same group where Dr. Michael Wessel had his employment during the last years.
While Ralf Möller and Volker Haarslev worked their way up within the research and educational environment, Kay Hidde operates software development and computer service businesses for almost twenty years.
Today Volker Haarslev is member of staff at the Computer Science Department of the Concordia Universtity of Montreal/Canada and Ralf Möller at the Software Technology and Systems Group of the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg. Dr. Michael Wessel also works at the STS/TU-HH and Kay Hidde is the general manager of Lavielle, a Hamburg/Germany based service and consulting company.
